There is no public funding available for legal representation for asylum support appeals. As a result, the vast majority of the appellants attend their oral hearings with no legal representative.
To fill this gap, the Duty Scheme provides asylum seekers with free legal representation and advice in their asylum support appeals. ASAP's legal advisers at the First-tier Tribunal (Asylum Support). If you are advising a client with an appeal hearing at the Tribunal, we might be able to represent them for free. To find out if ASAP can help your client in there appeal hearing follow the steps for making a referral below.

To make a referral, please fax the following information to us on 020 8686 1899:
- Contact details of the adviser (we do not contact the appellant directly)
- Decision letter from the Home Office
- Notice of appeal
- Any other relevant documents or evidence
After you have faxed the information, a legal adviser will contact you to discuss the case.
