Asylum Support Appeal Form Online Helper

About this online helper

This Online Helper was created by the Asylum Support Appeals Project (ASAP). It will help you complete part of the asylum support appeal form for the Asylum Support Tribunal (AST). The AST can look at decisions to either stop or refuse Section 95 or Section 4 asylum support.

The Online Helper does not send your appeal form to the Asylum Support Tribunal, it is a helper tool developed by ASAP and using this tool does not mean you have submitted an asylum support appeal.

You must email your appeal form and other documents to the Tribunal, your appeal will not be sent to theTribunal until you send this email

What does the online helper do?

It helps you write answers for the asylum support appeal form.

It gives you guidance for each question so you understand what is being asked.

It places the answers you provide into the correct sections of the asylum support appeal form.

At the end, you can download the appeal form with your completed answers which you will then to complete with the rest of your information and send to the Asylum Support Tribunal.

Before you start

Please read ASAP’s introductory guide to appealing to the Asylum Support Tribunal.

If you have received a 'Home Office decision letter’ about your asylum support you should read this letter carefully before you begin using the online helper. You will need to send this letter to the Tribunal with your appeal form.

This is the letter which says you cannot have (or continue having) asylum support.

If you have not been sent a 'Home Office decision letter' but you have a letter from your housing provider saying you must leave your housing, you can send that to the Tribunal instead.

Note: You can only appeal decisions about Section 95 and Section 4 support

Important

You MUST send your appeal form to: asylumsupporttribunals@justice.gov.uk.

Your appeal will not be sent to the Tribunal until you send this email!

If you realise you have missed important information or want to change any of your answers you can do this. We will tell you how to do this at the end of the online helper.

If you don’t have the documents or information needed to lodge an appeal the online helper will explain what to do next.

If it looks like you need to make a different type of appeal the tool will give you guidance on that.
